Skincare's Artisanal Wonder

1:52 AM

Welcome to brilliant skin...

It's okay if you haven't heard of May Lindstrom Skincare, as I hadn't had much experience with the line until recently myself. Once you hit the final trimester of pregnancy, you start to really see what changes are happening to your skin. Personally, I've been having uncharacteristically dry patches along with a general inconsistency in pigment and tone.

To start, I don't like to try new skincare unless what I'm using isn't working. Why? Because if I choose wrong, it can affect me for months. Once I have balanced skin, I try to stay to my regime. Call me stubborn, but it's what I do. Luckily, I was out of most of my facial products and was in the mood to try something new. Let's do it!

Skincare Priority #1: Ingredients.
This brand is organic, bio-dynamic, wild-crafted, cruelty free, sustainable, and vegan. There are no fillers, parabens, propylene, or butylene, glycols, petroleum, sulphates, PEGs, TEA, DEA, phthalates, GMO, silicones, pesticides, artificial dyes, fragrances or carcinogens. Oh, and it's wheat and gluten free. The Honey Mud has raw wildflower honey from unsprayed fields but that's about it. So... yeah, nothing to complain about there!

Skincare Priority #2: Efficacy.
Does it work? The pros and consumers claim "yes".

Skincare Priority #3: Price.
Because we all have our limits... (yeah, I'm talking to you, La Mer!).  This brand is on the higher end for me with their "the problem solver" masque priced at $100 and their "the clean dirt" at $70. Trying out this line is no drugstore test, but I find that when you're trying to buy products with the incredible ingredients lineup this brand has, it can be worth it.

Because, on the very rare occasion, I can be a little "extra", I visited CultBeauty.com to take advantage of by birthday 15% off coupon and grabbed 2 May Lindstrom products along with their facial treatment brush and their masque treatment bowl. Sometimes, you just need all the accessories. Moving on... I purchased "the problem solver" masque and "the clean dirt" exfoliant treatment. These two products were very well received online by consumers, pros and bloggers so I had the confidence that they would work well for me.

What I Like?

I love the product ingredients and how their sourced. It's really hard to find products that are legit conscious so it's great to see that. The smell is heaven! The packaging is stunning and I love the glass bottles. I also love how much product is in the packaging.

What I Don't Like?

The price is high, I can't lie about that. Technically, having to mix water with the product opens myself up to improper proportions, which I've done. But when I do that, I put the extra on my husband.

What I Learned?

I've found that I will spend the money if I feel like the product warrants the price but I will definitely hit up products like The Ordinary just the same.

Living in the UAE... you can buy these products from MayLindstrom.com or CultBeauty.com.
