Welcome to the UAE

Welcome to Dubai.

They always talk about expectations when you first visit a new country. Was it everything you thought it would be?
They also say that it's best to do your research before traveling somewhere you've never been. Oops. Guess you could say I put a little faith in the fabulous.

Upon arriving in the Emirates terminal of the Dubai airport, I must confess that I was pleasantly welcomed, enjoyed a clean pass through customs with several complementary mints in hand and walked out into the sand-filled, dry heat-saturated air with a smile on my face and fabulous heels on my feet. The people that surrounded me spoke their languages fluently and mine with uncertainty but it was a pleasure to be there and for some curious reason, I enjoyed every moment I waited for my car. You see, there is value to moments like these for they come far more sporadically the older you get.

There's a first time for everything.

SIDENOTE: A friend of mine convinced me to get on Snaptchat. She said I was "funny" and would be entertaining to watch. It's hard to say no when your friends thrust lovely complements at you so convincingly. Needless to say, I'm on it. Sadly, I've found that I'm not the type to remember I even have the application on my phone, let alone record myself being clever. I guess I'm a poor excuse for a Kardashian. Either way, I'm pretty sure you can follow me at: JaimeCharmed. And if you can't, it just means I don't know what I'm doing. Apologies in advance. Regardless, a lot of my photos are from my Snapchat.
